Salaviinanpolttajat | The Moonshiners is Juho Kuosmanen's (The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki) latest short film.
The film is a remake of Salaviinanpolttajat from 1907, which is described to be the "first Finnish film" ever made. This silent film will be performed with live music by Ykspihlajan Kino-orkesteri and live foley from Heikki Kossi. The film stars Jaana Paananen, Juha Hurme, Tomi Alatalo, Jarkko Lahti, Aku-Petteri Pahkamäki and Iiro the Pig.

Salaviinanpolttajat is produced by Otso Film in collaboration with Aamu Film Company and financed by The Finnish Film Foundation and Finnish National Broadcasting Company YLE.
It has been nominated for the Finnish Oscars / Jussit for Best Short Film.
